Volunteers for 2026 RMNP Summer Events & other Opportunities

We are excited to share that we are beginning recruitment for our upcoming Summer Program, as well as additional general events throughout the season.

Our Summer Program will take place weekly on Wednesdays from 6:00–8:00 PM in Rocky Mountain National Park, running from June 3 through August 2. This program offers a wonderful opportunity to engage with families, support community connection, and enjoy the outdoors during the summer months.

If you are interested in supporting the Summer Program or helping with other events, we would love to have you involved. Please sign up using the link below to indicate your availability and interest.

Volunteer with EVICS Family Resource Center

Be part of the community and help make a meaningful difference by volunteering with EVICS Family Resource Center. From family programs to community events and fundraisers, our volunteers play an important role in creating welcoming, fun, and supportive experiences for local children and families.

Peak Climbers Program

EVICS is excited to partner with Mountain Shop and KMAC Guides to offer the Peak Climbers Program, a unique opportunity for youth and families to build confidence, learn new skills, and experience the outdoors through climbing and adventure.

Jr. Peak Climbers (Ages 2–6)

Designed for young children and their caregivers, this program encourages confidence, coordination, and a love for outdoor movement through age-appropriate climbing activities and exploration.

Peak Climbers (Ages 7–18)

Participants will develop climbing skills, teamwork, outdoor safety knowledge, and self-confidence while taking on new challenges and adventures in a supportive environment.

Join us for a morning full of movement, laughter, and family fun at Kids, Kids, Kids: Bike, Run, Fun! Hosted during the Estes Park Marathon & Half Marathon weekend, this exciting community event is designed just for kids and families to enjoy active play, biking, running, games, and more.

This event is organized by EVICS and the Estes Park High School Cross Country Team, and hosted by the Estes Park Running Club.

  • Early Registration: 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM
    (Estes Park High School Commons at race registration)

  • On-Field Registration: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM

  • Event Ends: 11:30 AM

Entry Fee:
$10 per child

Each participant will receive:

  • A fun race bib

  • An ice cream coupon from Kind Coffee

  • Participation pins for biking and running activities

Activities Include:

Bike Obstacle Course

Beginning at 9:00 AM, kids can test their biking skills through fun obstacle challenges featuring zig-zag cone courses, launch ramps, and friendly competition.

Games & Activities

Starting at 9:00 AM, families can enjoy:

  • Hula hoops

  • Bean bag toss

  • Interactive games

  • Face painting

  • Crafts and coloring activities

Kids Running Races

From 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM, children ages 4–12 will participate in age-group running races organized by the Estes Park High School Cross Country & Track teams.

All runners will receive a special finisher pin.

Food & Family Fun

Enjoy snacks and refreshments throughout the event, including:

  • Pizza

  • Juice and water

  • Donuts

Join us this April for Mom’s Café Wellness Month, a special series dedicated to supporting and celebrating moms in our community! Each Monday, we will host a wellness-focused activity designed to give you time to relax, recharge, and connect with other moms.

Wellness Mondays will take place on:

  • Monday, April 6

  • Monday, April 13

  • Monday, April 20

  • Monday, April 27 (last day to enter the raffle & drawing day)

Childcare will be provided during all sessions so you can fully enjoy your wellness time.

Important: Please indicate which Mondays you plan to attend so we can ensure we have enough materials for all activities.

Each week you attend, you will receive an entry into our wellness raffle for a chance to win one of several wellness-themed prizes generously donated by local businesses and community members. The more Mondays you join, the more chances you have to win!

The final day to enter is Monday, April 27, and the raffle drawing will also take place that day.

Classes are made up of two parts each, and we offer four different sessions scheduled around due dates to fit your needs. All classes run from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM and are facilitated by Kendra Vancil, PTA and DONA-trained Doula, and Lesta Johnson, RN, MSN, IBCLC.

Self-Defense class for Moms!!!

You’re invited: Self-Defense for Moms Day

Join us for a practical, empowering self-defense workshop designed specifically for moms. Learn situational awareness, simple physical techniques, and de-escalation strategies that fit real-life parenting schedules and concerns. Instructors are experienced, trauma-informed, and focused on confidence-building and safety.

What to expect

  • Hands-on, beginner-friendly instruction

  • Realistic scenarios and tips for busy parents

  • Techniques you can practice at home

  • Supportive, non-competitive environment

Free childcare provided Bring your children—free supervised childcare will be available during the session so you can participate with peace of mind. Please arrive 10 minutes early to check children in.

NERF GUN DAY

You’re invited to a Nerf Gun War!

Who: Kids ages 7–12
What: Fun, safe Nerf gun battle with games, teams, and prizes
When: Saturday, April 18 • 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Where: EVICS Family Resource Center Gym
What to bring: Nerf blasters (optional), extra darts, and a water bottle
Provided: Safety goggles, extra darts, team bandanas, and snacks

Rules & Safety:

  • Safety goggles required at all times on the play field

  • No aiming at the face or head

  • No slam-firing or modified blasters that may cause injury

  • Follow referees’ instructions and team boundaries

  • Parents must sign a waiver at check-in
