What is FFN Care?
Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) care refers to childcare provided by grandparents, relatives, friends, neighbors, or trusted community members. FFN caregivers play a critical role in supporting families, especially in rural communities and for parents working nontraditional hours.
Why is FFN Important?
FFN caregivers are often the backbone of early childhood support systems. Many families rely on trusted loved ones to care for their children in safe, familiar, and culturally connected environments. Through this cohort, caregivers gain valuable knowledge, tools, and community support to strengthen the quality of care they provide.
Participants will learn about:
• Child development
• Health and safety practices
• Positive guidance and social-emotional support
• Building strong caregiver-child relationships
• Community resources and support services
• Professional development opportunities
This cohort is designed to empower caregivers, build confidence, and recognize the important work FFN providers do every day for children and families.
A graduation celebration and certificate of completion will be held on August 29, 2026.
